voice! If you would like to sing with us, just show up at 9:00

sing and lead our liturgies, and some musical experience. The
choir is open to all ages, including the young and young at
heart.
ST. MARGARET'S GUILD
will meet Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the home of
Virginia Young. All are welcome. Please RSVP to Virginia at

SAVE THE DATE
Fall Family Festival is coming up soon! Please mark your
calendars for Saturday, October 23. Get your costumes
ready for the costume competition, and be prepared to decorate
your pumpkin in time for Halloween. There will be carnival
games, lots of prizes, balloon animals, face painting, and
scrumptious food.
At this time the Fall Festival Committee is looking for
corporate sponsors and private donors to underwrite the cost of
some of the games. How about your company name displayed above
the game booth that you sponsor? This event brings together St.
Mark's parishioners and Day School families, as well as the
community at large. It is a fun way to mark the beginning of the
Holiday Season. To make a donation, please contact Monique Poon
(818) 384-5757 or
monique923@earthlink.net.
BRAND NEW OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES!
The Jubilee Consortium has two volunteer opportunities
coming up in the new future, part of its Youth Leadership
Program. We will be rolling out jump rope classes that will have
a youth leadership component at the end of each session. We are
looking for volunteers to serve as jump rope instructors.
If you are interested, training will be provided by Jubilee in
September, date still to be determined, at Foothill Force in La
Canada, where you will learn to teach jump roping skills and
certification. We are also looking for site supervisors,
who will take sign-ups, collect fees, and maintain general site
supervision during classes held at St. Stephen's in Hollywood or
All Saints in Highland Park, both very close to home. You can
volunteer for one class a week or one class a month. Contact Dcn.
Susie at
deacon@stmarksglendale.org. The Interfaith Refugee &
Immigration Service is beginning ESL classes in October and
is looking for patient and kind English speaking volunteers to
sit with four or five seniors over a cup of coffee Tuesday and
Thursday mornings to help them to learn basic words and
concepts. Field trips are also planned for which volunteers are
desired. If you can help, contact Debbie Decker, volunteer
coordinator, at
debbiedecker@ladiocese.org.
