The St. Mark's Choir

St. Mark’s Choir

The parish Choir assists in leading the primary liturgies of the church including the weekly Sunday 10 am mass and holy days such as Christmas Eve, All Saints’, Epiphany, Ascension, and the liturgies of Holy Week. The choir also prepares for the Advent Service of Lessons & Carols. The singers work diligently to balance the technical demands of rehearsal and spirit-filled work of liturgy, and offer a wide variety of musical styles, from Palestrina and Byrd, Bainton and Wesley, to Tavener and Rodney Bennet.

The choir is open to new singers, and if you are interested please contact David Houston, Organist and Choirmaster. We rehearse Thursday evenings 7 to 9 pm and Sunday mornings at 9 am to prepare for the 10 o’clock mass. Previous choral experience is desired but not necessary.

The Summer Choir

During the months of July and August, the Summer Choir leads our Sunday 10 am liturgies in hymn and psalm singing, and by offering an anthem. All parishioners of any age and skill level are invited to sing with us, and participation is a week-to-week basis. We rehearse each Sunday, July and August, at 9 am to prepare for the 10 o’clock mass.
