The Sunday Lunch Program

The Sunday Lunch Program is a coalition of Glendale churches serving the homeless and needy by providing a hot lunch every Sunday of the year. The Sunday lunch program rotates monthly among the participating churches. In addition to a hot meal, our guests are provided with a location schedule and information regarding services available to them in the area. We welcome new volunteers.

Guest Chef Program

We are happy to announce that St. Mark's will be participating in Path Achieve's Guest Chef program. Path Achieve is a full service shelter and resource to the homeless in Glendale with a particular eye to families who have fallen into homelessness. It provides counseling, medical care, job help and help in finding permanent housing while participants enjoy a safe and warm shelter during their stay. Guest chefs provide meals each day of the week. St. Mark's St. Swithin's Guild will be the guest chef on the 4th Monday of each month, serving a meal to approximately 40 adults and children. St. Swithin's is looking for volunteers to shop for food, prepare the meal, and serve at Path Achieve at 6 pm, which is located on San Fernando Court in Glendale.

The campaign is also in need of snacks for the volunteers. To donate or if you need more information, please contact Elise Copley.

Project New Hope

The fourth Wednesday of the month we prepare a lunch of sandwiches, salads and fruit, and take it down to the Rand Schrader Clinic of County USC Medical Center, where we serve lunch to outpatients being treated for HIV/AIDS, many of whom are homeless. The lunch is prepared at 9 am, and served downtown at 11:30 am.
