Weddings & Blessings at Saint Mark's
With the words, “Dearly beloved,” the Prayer Book’s liturgy for the celebration and blessing of a marriage begins. St. Mark’s church and grounds make it an ideal setting for a wedding of beauty and depth. It is likewise, a holy space in which to gather for the blessing of a civil marriage or same gender relationship. Our garden and parish hall are also available for receptions.
To be married in the Episcopal Church or to have your union blessed, one of the couple has to be a baptized Christian (regardless of tradition). The Episcopal Church is open to the remarriage of divorced persons, but it does require requesting the permission of the Bishop. A series of conversations exploring a Christian understanding of marriage and the couple’s relational dynamics, is required of all.
If you are interested in being married or having your union blessed at St. Mark’s, you are encouraged to worship with us on a Sunday morning and to introduce yourself to a member of the clergy.
